👋 Hi, I’m Aimee.
I’m an Inclusion Advisor and for 10 years I was an Assistant Headteacher in a London high school. I’ve led primary – high school transition, safeguarding, Special Educational Needs (SEN), school attendance and a host of other things. I’ve worked with thousands of children and their families as they start high school. Before that, I was a Head of Year 7 and taught in a high school in Lancashire for 8 years.
I’ve started the Inclusion Advisor to share what I’ve learned about the important milestone of moving from primary to high school and beyond.
Each week I post things to think about, practical tasks you might want to try and tick off the to-do list and ideas for activities you can do with your child to get secondary ready! I’ll also be working through what some of the jargon means – we love an acronym(!) – and trying to explain why schools do some of the things they do.
